This Privacy Policy explains what information Glongus collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Glongus is a platform for playing and creating community-made games, avatars, and worlds.

- Recovery email (optional — only used if you choose to add one, so you can recover your account)
- Interests/genre preferences (optional, used to personalize what you see)
- Avatar appearance and any games or assets you create or upload

**Information collected automatically:**
- Basic technical information needed to operate the site and prevent abuse (such as request logs)
- Your Bits balance and marketplace transaction history

We try to collect as little personal information as possible. Fields like recovery email, gender detail, and interests are optional.

## 3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

- Create and secure your account, and let you log back in
- Show your profile, avatar, and activity to other users as intended (e.g., friends lists, game credits)
- Operate features like Bits, the marketplace, and account recovery
- Keep the platform safe — investigating abuse reports, enforcing our [Terms of Service](/terms.md), and preventing fraud
- Improve and personalize Glongus (for example, using stated interests to suggest games)

We do not sell your personal information.

## 4. Who can see your information

- Your username, avatar, and public profile activity are visible to other Glongus users, as is normal for a social platform.
- Your birthday, gender, recovery email, and account credentials are private and are not shown to other users.
- We may share information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of Glongus or its users, or with service providers who help us run the site (such as our hosting and database provider) under obligations to protect your data.

## 5. Data retention and deletion

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you want your account or personal data deleted, contact us using the details above and we'll process your request, except where we need to retain certain information to comply with the law or resolve disputes.

## 6. Children

Glongus is not directed at children under 13, and we require users to be 13 or older to create an account. If we learn that someone under 13 has created an account, we will take steps to remove it.

## 7. Your choices

- You can update or remove optional profile details (like your recovery email or interests) at any time in Settings.
- You can request a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account, by contacting us.

## 8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll try to let you know (for example, through the site). Continuing to use Glongus after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
